AT THE BODY POSITIVE FACILITATOR TRAINING, YOU WILL:
• Receive our comprehensive Be Body Positive Facilitator Manual and Group Curriculum with step-by-step instructions for teaching our powerful Competencies in individual and group settings with the people you serve.
• Experience the power of this Model firsthand to enhance your relationship with your own body, improve your self-care, and prevent burnout.
• Gain confidence and skills to work with people struggling with eating and body image problems.
• Engage in dialogue to understand the impact of intersecting identities on body image and self-care.
In reaction to a culture that is increasingly out of balance, The Body Positive trains mental and medical health care providers, coaches, educators, students, and community organizers to use our research-based Be Body Positive Model, which combines skills of self-compassion, intuition, creativity, and social connection to help people reclaim their beauty, purpose, and the joy of living in their unique bodies.
Connie Sobczak and Elizabeth Scott, LCSW, founded The Body Positive to free people from their perpetual struggles with their bodies. Elizabeth is the organization’s Director of Training, and has been a psychotherapist since 1998, specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. Connie Sobczak serves as CEO, and is the author of Embody: Learning to Love Your Unique Body (and quiet that critical voice!).
“In my more than 25 years of experience working with eating disorders in residential settings, I can honestly say that I have never been a part of something so transformational. The Body Positive training gave our group instant access to powerful interventions that they immediately began using with clients. We experienced powerful and life-changing concepts delivered with wisdom, humor, and compassion.”
