Valerie Dapsis, MFTI
Valerie Dapsis is a registered associate marriage and family therapist, working as a milieu therapist and case manager at Montecatini. Valerie began working in the field of eating disorders back in 2014 when she was studying psychology at UCSD and volunteering running eating disorder prevention groups at schools, girl scout troops, and Boys & Girls Clubs across San Diego. While pursuing her masters in marriage and family therapy, she completed her traineeship with adolescents with eating disorders primarily utilizing dialectical behavioral therapy. Valerie now works at Montecatini leading several groups, checking in with patients for additional support, and provides case management. She loves the eclecticism of Montecatini’s clinical treatment approach, as it allows the treatment to be client-centered and individualized. She utilizes an approach combining behavioral modalities such as dialectical behavioral therapy with more humanistic-experiential modalities such as emotionally focused therapy.
