Amber Laurie, MA
Amber became passionate about working in the mental health field early on while studying Psychology at California State University, Chico. While earning her Bachelor’s degree, Amber worked as a sexual assault peer counselor at the Rape Crisis and Intervention Center in Chico, CA. She became eager about advocating for survivors of assault and individuals struggling with mental illness and trauma. Amber received her Master’s degree in Psychological Science from California State University, Chico in 2015. She then began working as a Behavioral Health Counselor at an eating disorder treatment center in Northern California where she learned more about eating disorders and the treatment of the disorder through running groups and providing meal support. Amber enjoys working closely with clients and supporting individuals as they grow and strengthen their recovery.
At Montecatini, Amber runs psychoeducational groups and provides assistance with discharge planning as clients move through the program. Amber enjoys working directly with clients to ensure they have a strong recovery-based plan for after they leave Montecatini and know how to continue to receive support.
