MONTECATINI EATING DISORDER TREATMENT CENTER ANNOUNCES OPENING OF NEW FACILITY
(Carlsbad, CA – July 13, 2009) -- Montecatini, a pioneer eating disorder treatment center based in Carlsbad, California, has announced the opening of a new facility for their partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. The new 2,285 square foot facility adds yet another option for adult women struggling with anorexia, bulimia, binge eating and associated disorders.
“We now have the ability to offer a full range of eating disorder treatment options to meet the varied and individual needs of our patients,” said Nancy Staycer, LCSW, manager of Montecatini’s outpatient services. “This new facility allows patients the opportunity to have more autonomy with less structure to practice implementing more effective and positive coping skills.”
The partial hospitalization program allows patients to begin part-time work or attend school while remaining connected to the treatment process. Patients also have the ability to spend time in their home environments. This allows the individual to identify some of the potential challenges that may hinder lasting recovery. Upon returning to Montecatini, patients are able to work through these difficulties with the staff, ultimately facilitating their transition to more healthful and productive lives.
The intensive outpatient program is designed to help patients learn new tools to deal with their eating disorder more effectively while maintaining their day-to-day lives outside the center. Patients work with Montecatini’s highly experienced staff to find a psychological, medical, pharmacological and nutritional balance through various therapeutic modalities.
“The goal is for our patients to transfer the skills learned into real world experiences after receiving the appropriate guidance, support and nurturance at Montecatini,” said Staycer.
Both the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs are available Monday through Friday from 12-8 p.m. The programs are flexible based on the individual needs of each patient and begin with an initial clinical assessment that becomes the basis for the development of a detailed and specific treatment plan.
Established in 1991, Montecatini’s mission is to instill hope for women struggling with eating disorders so that they may again live functional, joyful lives. Nationally recognized for its success, Montecatini believes in treating the mind, body and spirit, with a holistic approach to treatment that addresses the complexity of the eating disorder by utilizing several different, individualized treatment techniques.
